A .docx file is really a zip archive containing XML that describes not just text but fonts, styles, embedded images, tables, headers, footers, and precise positioning. This tool opens that archive and extracts the text runs and paragraph structure, discarding everything else, then lays the plain text out fresh onto PDF pages. The result carries your words and paragraph breaks, but none of the original visual design.
This suits situations where you need a distributable, read-only version of a document's content and privacy matters more than exact appearance — draft contracts, notes, articles, or reports where the wording is what counts. It also works fully offline, since nothing needs to be uploaded to a server to reconstruct the layout.
If your document depends on tables, multi-column layout, custom fonts, tracked changes, embedded images, or specific page formatting, none of that will appear in the output. For documents where visual fidelity matters — resumes, brochures, forms — a desktop word processor's built-in 'Save as PDF' will produce a far more faithful result.
