About Phone QR Generator
A phone QR code encodes a tel: URI, such as tel:+15551234567, following the same scheme used for click-to-call links on mobile websites. When a phone's camera recognizes the tel: prefix it offers to dial that number directly through the phone app, skipping the need to type or copy a number from a sign, card, or screen. The number itself is stored as plain digits with an optional leading + for the country code, with no other formatting interpreted.
This is useful anywhere a fast, accurate phone connection matters more than a webpage or email: a taxi or delivery service printed on a vehicle, a maintenance contact on equipment, an emergency or support line on signage, or a callback number on a business card. Because dialing happens with a single tap after scanning, it removes the chance of someone mistyping a digit from a hard-to-read printed number.
For the code to work reliably across countries, include the full international format with a leading + and country code (for example +1 for the US or +44 for the UK) rather than a local-only number, since a scanning device outside the original area code may not know how to complete a domestic-format number. Also remember that scanning only prepares the call — the person scanning still has to confirm before it actually dials.
